and Edwardian or new London homes vary in there appearance and so special attention is paid in the design phase, so that you get exactly the look and
functionality you desire. The floating shelves (chunky shelves) that I make are individually trimmed on site guaranteeing a perfect fit for any wonky alcove or
period Victorian house that may have not very straight walls. When the floating shelves are finished there are no visible fixings or seams and every shelf is
fine sanded and gap-sealed to the wall. The shelves are fixed very firmly and can usually (depending on walls etc.) take loads in excess of 40Kg. The Floating
shelves I make are around 42mm thick, 50mm is the well known Ikea thickness. Lighting options include the traditional halogen lights, which are not recommended
any more due to heat considerations and now I also have available LED lights, with both the traditional round under cabinet look and the long strip LED lights
too. Thickness's of the shelf to accommodate such lights depend upon your selection. In the past lights of one form or another have been used in shelves as thin
as 25mm upto 50mm and beyond.

white or wood finish Bespoke Floating Shelves can be installed by me, I'm a time served qualified and experienced carpenter and joiner, and I will fit into an
alcove or on an open wall your specially selected and beautifully made floating shelves at my pleasure. All my Bespoke Floating Shelves are fitted with no
visible brackets or supports showing, unless you require a more traditional look, and require under shelf supports. I will also be sure to not leave until
strength and a fine finish has been attained. I pre make and pre finish everything as much as possible before I come to install and final adjustments are made to
gain that special hand crafted finish with no visible fixings or seams and every shelf is finely sanded and gap-sealed to the wall. My shelves are fitted using
10mm or 12mm threaded rods and are drilled directly into the wall for maximum support. My modern alternative to a standard free standing bookcase is a must gift

I can design your wardrobes to your required specifications, and produce a sketch for your approval. Once the design is agreed and you decide to go ahead with
the work I will need to take a 33% deposit to cover materials I will use MDF or Laminated boards or real wood for the wardrobes depending on our agreement. If
you require mirrored doors or sliding doors or hardwood wardrobes the deposit may be slightly higher rising to as much as 50%, with payment due upon completion,

Lighting inside wardrobes
Clothes rail LED strip lighting is fitted instead of the normal hanging rail. This interior lit hanging rail has a sensor which turns on a light automatically
once you open the door. Wardrobe lighting is low energy, but bright enough. Low-level lighting is an extremely useful addition to your fitted wardrobes, but it
does cost. Typically costs for these kinds of hanging rails to measure, order, collect and fit comes in at about £190 per rail. However incorporating hanging
rail lighting into wardrobes has clear advantages.

Lead times are discussed, if you need something fast, then I will let you know what I can do. I am happy to work overtime if it helps one of my customers.
Weekends are not a problem, I just ask my partner and if she says yes, then it's a go.
